The current situation.

The current situation brings to mind the disinformation campaign used by the Allies to fool the Germans into where they would be landing or not landing. In other words, if the Coronavirus is a disinformation campaign, then who is waging it?  The Chinese would certainly be a suspect.  The Russians? Possibly, since they are not reporting any cases.  On other hand, would the Russians leave such an obvious clue to their involvement. Seems unlikely, More likely either the closing of their borders worked or they are lying about the virus.  Although, the Russians were an ally in World War II, their long embrace in the cold war as always made me distrusting of them ever since that time. So it is hard for me to eliminate them as a suspect.  Still, if this is a disinformation campaign, this doesn't seem like their style. No this seems like a move by a party that was a former World War II Allied power or is based in one of those countries.  For what purpose? ...

No Real Chance to Win by June 1944.

By June 1944, the Germans window of opportunity to win the war was over.  Setting aside the material advantages possessed by the Allies and focusing strictly on strategy, I argue that the Germans had already lost the strategic war.  This was due to the Germans losing the initiative and always remaining on the defensive after the surrender in North Africa.  A war can be won, if a combatant maintains the initiative, even against superior forces this because the one with the initiative can dictate the time and place of battle. By time the of the invasion of Normandy, the Germans not only did not have the initiative, but mentally were ready to lose. If not for the hedgerows of Normandy, the Germans would have not been able to hold up the Allies in Normandy for as long as they did.  This is not to disparage the German soldier who was on the whole much better than his counterpart in the Allied or Russian army. The initiative to the leaders and not the soldiers. The Germa...

The Beginning of a Blog

The purpose of this Blog, is to discuss World War II.  Anything is fair game such as, from the Germans should have done this, or the Allied Forces should have landed there, or the British knew this but did nothing about it. As an example, I believe it is possible that the British may have tipped off the Germans to Russian intentions in June 1942, and therefore the German operation Case Blue may have been launched partially based on this tip. Now, I am not suggesting that the tip was supplied directly by the British to the Germans.  No I am thinking if it was supplied by the British, then it would have taken an indirect route to the Germans.  The British are very good at this kind of thing, while still managing to pull the strings from behind the scenes.
